Debating, ha?

Have you ever wondered what’s the point of all this? Endless arguments, an infinity of rebuttals, extensions that don’t really go anywhere, clash points that never happened, shaking hands with some guy you’d rather punch in the face, debating partners that just don’t get how smart you are, judges who have no idea what they’re saying, way too many commas in a sentence…

Not to mention unbalanced motions, lack of examples, unclear models, annoying POIs, horrible food, awkward socials, alcohol, more alcohol, waaaaaay too much alcohol and then all that on repeat. It’s not all bad. Some even say there are worst things in life then getting backstabbed in the semis.!

Have you ever heard of Belgrade though? It gives debating a meaning!
It once was a city where debating was banned. People used arguments not just against their debating opponents but against oppressive regimes. It cultivated debating not as a sport but as a way of life. It grew from an idea to one of the largest communities on the planet covering dozens of universities and high schools. Eventually, Belgrade hosted one of the best EUDC…

Here we are again, ready for another fantastic tournament in the heart of Europe. We got all the necessary ingredients: Dedicated ORG COM, Creative CA team, unique and tasty food, socials you might not remember (but that’s on you) and an army of volunteers ready to help. If you’ve been a debater long enough, you know Belgrade is on your to do list. If you’re new to debating, ask around and get ready for one of the best experiences of your life.

Belgrade Open is not just a tournament. It’s what debating is all about!
